Some of our members travelled over to Appleby this week to play in their Mixed Open. The winners with a fantastic score of 44 points were Gary Catt and Eileen McMullan, in third place with 44 points on count back was Steve and Barbara Willis and in fourth place with 43 points was Nigel and Alison Stanwix. Congratulations guys. It is great seeing our members winning at other clubs.
Unfortunately due to bad weather Sunday's competition was cancelled. The heavy rain and fog meant play was virtually impossible. The competition will be replayed at a later date when the weather is a bit kinder.
This week's competition is a fun competition, 3 clubs and a putter challenge. Places are still available. Contact Bradley or Jen in the golf shop to arrange a tee time.
Again due to bad weather, Sunday's Ladies competition was cancelled. This week's competition is a Turkey Trot. Places are still available. If you wish to play sign up near the Ladies locker room.
This week I had the pleasure of fitting Derek Robinson for a new set of TaylorMade M2 irons. Derek came to me a couple of weeks ago highlighting his lack of confidence with his current Nike VRs irons.
Derek was looking for something on the market that was more forgiving, straighter and longer.
After hitting numerous shots with the PING G Series and the Taylormade M2's with the use of our SkyTrak launch monitor, it was clear the Taylormade M2 ticked all those boxes for Derek.
Derek managed to increase total distance by an impressive 25 yards, narrowed his dispersion from 18 yards right to 2 yards right = 1 Happy Customer!
Custom fitting is not a myth to improving your golf... Book your FREE fitting today by clicking here or contact the golf shop.
"I hope you enjoy your new irons Derek and have many good games with them in the future".
Do your golf grips need their annual MOT?
It's that time of year when the weather is becoming wetter and wetter and your golf grips start suffering. A lack of grip on your clubs can lead to wasted shots on the golf course. Don't let your game be ruined by clubs that have poor, worn grips.
From only £5.99 we will accurately measure you for the correct size grip, remove your old grips, put some new ones on and give your clubs a good clean. If you purchase 6 grips you get the next one FREE!
Visit us in store to arrange to have your clubs re-gripped.
This week we look at what's in Alexander Noren's golf bag after recently winning the British Masters. He shot rounds of 67, 65, 65 and 69 for a total of 18 under, two shots clear of Bernd Wiesberger. This is Noren's third European Tour victory in his last 8 events. So what's in his Golf Bag?

Perfect for the cooler weather
Temperatures have certainly dipped in recent weeks so it’s time you thought about layering up. Glenmuir’s luxury lambswool sweaters are ideal for the cooler weather and come in a classic look. For those of you who love to wear the club’s badge with pride, Glenmuir’s crested range is a fantastic option too.
